Isn't the point of a trainer kite to learn how to fly larger kites? But, does anyone kiteboard without a harness and a 2-line kite? Standard 2-line tainer kites are just basically a powerful stunt kite at best. Unfortunately, the student learns very little to nothing about properly flying a de-powerable kite. In summary the student practices with a kite which flies totally different from what they will be kiteboarding with. Without a chicken-loop and sheetable bar, the student is forced to use incorrect muscle groups while flying the kite. Also, the student is not correctly utilizing their bodyweight and proper balance while flying.

PowerZone trainer kites not only offer de-power and extended wind range, but also the ability to relaunch and land the kite from any position in the wind window. The kite can be made to fly in reverse, so no more walking to the kite to turn it over. During training, the student can practice solo launching and landing the kite for increased independance. Even in high winds, the student can set up the kite leading edge down - walk backwards letting out the lines- reverse launch and go.

PowerZone has taken the Hydra (Made by HQ), then overhauled the kite by adding a 4th line and Modifying its bridle to achieve sheetable de-power while maintaining high performance and stability. The Hydra 300 measures out at an incredible 10' Wingspan and includes a 20" bar.

The harness included is a seat-style harness with a quick-release shackle for safety. While it is NOT intended for use with larger kites, the training harness offers a way to test and develop the sport of kiteboarding without investing in an expensive harness prematurely.

While these kites are not intended to replace guided lessons, they incredibly decrease the learning curve in kiteboarding and are a huge asset to learning when accompanied with instruction.
